On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 1:04am, Columbus Police offices were dispatched to the 1400 block of Oakland Park Ave on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Jayvon Gore, 28, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Columbus Fire transported the victim to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Mr. Gore was later pronounced deceased at 1;14am.

The preliminary investigation revealed that several individuals exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of an after-hours establishment where the victim had been a customer. During the exchange, Mr. Gore was fatally struck. Also, during the exchange Columbus Division of Fire Station 18 located nearby was also struck by gunfire.

When officers arrived on scene many witnesses fled the area. Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

On September 1, 2020, at approximately 10:24 a.m., Patrol officers responded to the area of 851 Wellington Blvd. on a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim inside a blue Ford Fusion, who had been shot. The victim, later identified as Mr. Michael Fair Jr. was pronounced dead at scene at 10:33 a.m. Preliminary investigative results ascertained, from several witnesses at scene, a possible suspect vehicle as a full-size black pick-up truck with fancy wheels and possibly tinted windows being driven by a younger black male suspect with short wavy hair, dark complexion and skinny.
