Homicide Westside of
Columbus in 2016
Homicide which took place on the Westside of Columbus in 2016.
News: 10.26.25
On Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 8:45pm, Columbus Police were dispatched to 174 Columbian Avenue, on the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located a victim inside of the residence, identified as David Lee Hodge, who had been shot several times. He was immediately transported to Mt. Carmel West hospital where, at approximately 9:20pm, he succumbed to his injuries. It has been determined that prior to the shooting, the unidentified suspects broke out windows to gain entry into the residence. Once inside, the suspects went upstairs and were confronted by Mr. Hodge and another witness who also resided in the house. Unfortunately, this confrontation resulted in Mr. Hodge being shot by at least one of the suspects while on the stairs, leading from the first floor to the second. The suspects then fled the scene, possibly in a Silver Nissan Rogue. There exists the possibility that Mr. Hodge may have been familiar, to some degree, with his murderer(s).
